In looking into this a little I think it not only has to do with which browser you use, but if your have your browser remembering cookies, using javascript blockers, and ad blockers. In the case here I have the same problem as you with Firefox, but not with Chrome. Just faking Yahoo into thinking I was using Safari. I use Firefox and a while back when looking at a stock the videos would only play for 8 seconds!
